Although we occasionally do board pets of older age that are still "in-tact", we do NOT board them during holidays or when there is an influx of guests.
Rabies, Bordetella, etc.. (all basic vaccinations needed before pet boarding and pet sitting)
Always feel free to reach us at boarding@boardingbuddytallahasse.com
or call if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Occasionally, we walk our guests, and sometimes even to the local dog park; if we feel as if it would help us better connect with your pet or make them more comfortable versus using our fenced backyard, then we always enjoy walks. Boarding Buddy ensures all of our Buddies get the daily exercise they need in our spacious play areas. We don’t allow dogs to leave our facilities without your permission for their safety and peace of mind.
It totally depends on your pet. We do our best to replicate the home environment, if your pet is a couch potato, lol, we do our best to get them enough daily exercise, but also allow them to be themselves. We have guests that are super energetic and spend most of their day playing and jumping around, while others are a lot more calm, whether they are energetic or timid we accommodate what your pet needs.
Unlike other boarders, we are a home, meaning there is no stress or unfamiliar elements like those at big and loud warehouse kennel. Our guests sleep on our beds, our carpets, and couches and sometimes with us, just like at your home. IF your pet it crate trained, we have extra-large crates where your pet can sleep during the night. Our home is climate controlled, powered by our solar panels, with giant windows so they always feel comfortable and get natural light, something kennels do not provide. With water accessible 24/7 and a huge backyard with real trees and pet-safe bushes, expect your pet to enjoy the outdoors and be able to get some lovely vitamin D, your pet gets to experience a safe and comfortable environment while also being able to let out their wild side.
Still unsure about pet boarding in a home? We are fully insured and trained in pet emergency and CPR in case of an emergency. View the the dozens of reviews to why home boarding is a better option for your pet. If you would like to tour to get an idea of your pet's environment feel free to call and schedule a meet and greet where you can meet us and we can meet your buddy.
We are happy to administer your dog’s medication, free of charge. Whether injections like insulin, or pills, we will always make sure your pet has what it needs to be comfortable. For the safety of your pet, we ask that the medication must be in its original bottle with a current prescription.
Like kids on a playground, they sometimes come home with small scratches and other minor injuries. The same goes for boarding, although extremely rare, it can happen. While we do our best to prevent all injuries. Buddies can sometimes experience small scratches or minimal fur loss from playing. If there is ever a medical emergency that has occurred during their stay, it is fully covered by Boarding Buddy.
We separate our dogs by size and energy levels, never will we put an energetic Great Dane puppy with a calm older Pomeranian or a playful Mane Coon with a timid Tabby. With dogs, sometimes in our larger groups, we will mix sizes to see if their energy level are similar enough, but never will we put our guests at risk of injury. We do slow introductions and look for key behaviors in every guest to see if your pet will do well with others. At even the smallest sign of aggression, that guest will be separated.
We highly encourage that you bring your own food, a change in food can upset your pet's stomach and leave them extremely uncomfortable. In the event that you do not bring food or something happens where we have no access to your pet's food, we do provide Hill's Science Diet as an alternative, free of charge.
We have three separate cat rooms where we place and separate cats. Most cats do well will with each other in large spaces and are always temperament tested before being introduced to other cats. In the event a cat does not get along with other cats or prefers alone time, we will separate them. Occasionally, we have feline friends who love the company of dogs, and with your permission, we will let them relax with our timid and older dogs, indoors, under supervision. Otherwise, our cats never see dogs.
We are 24 hours, meaning you can pick up or drop off at any time. Outside of our 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. working hours, we do require future notice and a $20.00 convenience fee. You can expect to pick up or drop off your Buddy between 8 a.m. to 8 p.m without any fees or complications. If you drop off or pick up 30 minutes early or late, we never charge for such small time differences.
There is no penalty for canceling, give us a call or text and we will cancel your reservation. (this varies during holidays)
